You might come to therapy because something hurts or has changed.

You may want to understand yourself more deeply.
Explore patterns in your relationships.
Find different ways of meeting difficult emotions, thoughts, or behaviors.
Process trauma while creating more freedom in the present.
Better understand your identity, sexuality, and/or neurodivergence.
Or simply have a place where complexity does not need to be resolved before it can be explored.
At Threshold Counseling Collective,
therapy is:

  • Collaborative, relational, and individually tailored
  • Responsive to identity, ability, background, and lived experience
  • Trauma-informed  (including complex-PTSD and generational trauma)
  • Neurodiversity-affirming
  • LGBTQIA+ and gender-affirming

CLINICAL BACKGROUND

I am interested in the complex ways we become ourselves: what we inherit, what we adapt to, what we choose, and what changes as our lives unfold. I approach therapy with respect for all that has shaped you and curiosity about what may still be possible.

During graduate training in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Montana, I provided trauma-informed counseling to survivors of sexual, relational, and identity-based harm through the Student Advocacy Resource Center (SARC), and co-facilitated a weekly survivor support group for UM students. I also served as a sexual-assault advocate for adults at First Step Resource Center at Providence St. Patrick Hospital and counseled undergraduate students and student-athletes from diverse cultural backgrounds through the Counselor Training Center at UM.

Post graduation, I worked as a clinical therapist at Montana DBT Associates (MDBTA), providing comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for teens and adults. This included co-facilitating teen, parent, and adult DBT skills groups, offering parent consultations, and collaborating with community medical providers to support integrative care.

After leaving MDBTA, I worked under the clinical supervision of Samuel Ore, LCSW, and Leah Ore, LCSW, at Waxwing Psychotherapy, LLP. It was here that I completed my Level II EMDR training, discovered a passion for working with fellow neurodivergent clients, and built what is now
Threshold Counseling Collective.

My orientation to counseling is grounded in anti-racist, culturally responsive, and identity-affirming care that respects diverse racial and ethnic identities, cultural practices, beliefs, traditions, and ways of knowing.

...AND A LITTLE BIT MORE...

My path to becoming a counselor involved a considerable number of side quests.
For over two decades, music and singing was a central part of my life through study, performance, writing, and teaching voice lessons. To support my music habit, I found myself working in restaurants, nonprofits, temp agencies, animal welfare organizations, and higher education—from career services to civic engagement and international education. Turns out, the side quests were the path.

I am also a therapeutic breathwork practitioner, which has shaped how I understand the relationship between our body, nervous system, and lived experiences. It has also taught me that “take a breath” can occasionally be useful advice—when offered with considerably more nuance.

Outside the office, I appreciate a solid morning routine, an unnecessarily large collection of long cardigans, and the ongoing challenge of figuring out how to repot my ever-growing collection of plants.

Philosophy

There are moments in life when something no longer fits.

Not because it is wrong.
Not because it failed.
But because it was built in response to something that is no longer here.

Therapy is not a quick fix.
It is a process of turning inward and stepping toward what is not yet known.

There may be grief and fear.
There may be hope and love.
There may be parts of you that are both exhausted and ready.

All of that—and all of you—belongs here.

My role is not to change you.
And it is not to lead you somewhere predetermined.

It is to walk alongside you at the threshold—
to offer steadiness, curiosity, and care
as you begin to notice what is yours to keep,
what is ready to fall away,
and what is still becoming.
